History of ChronoLogic (formerly Fiberbyte)
ChronoLogic Pty Ltd (formerly Fiberbyte) was originally founded in 1995. Fiberbyte’s early technology focus was high powered lasers for industrial and military applications. After developing and investigating a number of different technologies including fibre optic test and measurement systems, Fiberbyte’s Co-Founder & CTO, Peter Foster, began work on the company’s innovative “USB-inSync™” distributed synchronization and timing technology in 2001.
In September 2002 Fiberbyte secured investment funding from “Silex Systems” (ASX: SLX), a technology based public company located in Sydney, Australia. The USB-inSync technology soon became Fiberbyte's sole focus and in 2004 Fiberbyte was acquired by Silex Systems.
In 2005, Fiberbyte was awarded South Australia’s first grant under the Australian Government’s Commercial Ready program, to further accelerate the development and commercialisation of the USB-inSync™ technology.
In 2008 Fiberbyte officially changed its name to ChronoLogic Pty Ltd to more accurately reflect its position as a leader in distributed synchronization and timing technology.
