ChronoLogic is developing a range of cross-platform synchronization devices that provide users with connectivity and synchronization across a range of instrumentation platforms. Traditionally, instrumentation users have struggled with poor interoperability between various instrumentation protocols such as USB, IEEE-1588 (Ethernet) and PXI. This new cross-platform technology provides unprecedented interoperability between various protocols, allowing them to be combined within hybrid systems and synchronized / controlled in a deterministic manner.
This technology will provide users with the ability to utilise their existing test equipment in conjunction with ChronoLogic’s distributed and user-friendly USB-inSync™ modules in a synchronized setup that can be easily customised to suit a virtually unlimited number of applications. In addition, ChronoLogic’s cross-platform synchronization technology will support the IRIG (Inter Range Instrumentation Group) timing protocol, and synchronization with GPS timing signals.
ChronoLogic is currently in the final stages of development of its first Cross-Platform Synchronization device; the CL3000 - Universal Timing Bridge. The CL3000 is a PCI card that synchronizes ChronoLogic’s USB-inSync™ platform with IEEE-1588 (Ethernet), as well as providing a highly accurate clock source for external devices or entire systems. Free software upgrades will enable IRIG/GPS time codes shortly after the initial CL3000 product release. Also in development is the second Cross-Platform Synchronization device which will allow users to synchronize USB-inSync™ with the PXI platform.
